We want to especially thank Porsche Greensboro for hosting our PCA meeting and providing our delicious dinner from Cracker Barrel.  There was plenty of southern style food for everyone, ranging from meatloaf, breaded chicken strips, grilled chicken strips, green beans, mashed potatoes, carrots, stewed apples, mac and cheese, fresh fruit, biscuits, corn bread, cookies, chocolate cola cake and birthday cake, and southern sweet tea.

After filling our bellies, I started our meeting by welcoming everyone and recognized a new PCA member, John Eller.

TJ Gottwalt, our Triad Area Membership Ambassador, updated us on the current membership status and recognized our area’s PCA member anniversaries.

TJ updated the membership status and announced PCA member anniversaries.

We celebrated the following July birthdays.

Rick Huskins stepped up in Jerry’s absence and serenaded our guests’ birthdays. I think Jerry may have some serious competition.

YMCA Camp Haynes Staff members, Donna Rogers, Interim CEO, Amanda Hurley, Senior Vice President, Nicholas Patton, Executive Director, Val DuValle W. Elliott, Jr., Vice President of Major Gifts and Planned Giving (Heritage Club) joined our meeting to accept a $10,000 donation.

On Saturday, July 18, the Triad Area hit the road for a rendezvous with the triangle area at Red Oak Brewery in  Whitsett, North Carolina. The weather was nice and sunny for eight cars and 15 participants to take the long way and enjoy the ride.

We left from Porsche Greensboro, who graciously provided pastries to fuel the drivers, on scenic roads south through Asheboro and back up with a nice mix of curves and backcountry driving. Once arriving at the brewery, all the members parked in a reserved lot for PCA.We then enjoyed the fellowship, beers, and brats inside the beautiful beer hall.

As a reminder, I am resigning from my position as Triad Area PCA Area Director, effective December 31st, 2026. Sarah and I are truly grateful to have had the opportunity to serve and contribute to PCA.

PCA Carolina’s Region President, Jim Hess and I are still looking for a volunteer to take over this role. Please reach out to Jim or myself if you have interest. I am happy to assist in any way to ensure a smooth transition.
