Triad Area October Update!

Triad Area Monthly Meeting

On September 8th, the Triad Area held its monthly meeting at Little Richards BBQ.  We had 50 members attend.

I started our meeting by welcoming everyone and recognized new PCA members:

Eric and Krissy Shook

TJ Gottwalt, our Triad Area Membership Ambassador, updated us on the current membership status and recognized our area’s PCA member anniversaries. We are currently at a total of 631 members within the Triad Area.

Next, we celebrated the following September birthdays:

Josh Burcham                           Paula Vasaly

Charles Branch                          Nyles Lantor

Rick and Jerry Singing Happy Birthday

I then read the following appreciation letter from the American Children’s Home President & CEO, Regina Keener.  She thanked us for our generous gift of $2,500 that was donated on September 1st, 2026 as a sponsor of the 28th Annual Car Show-Off.

Lunch and Laps @ VIR to benefit

Racing for Heroes

On September 24th, Dixon Johnston led 6 cars up from Porsche Greensboro to Lunch and Laps at VIR to benefit Racing for Heroes.  Porsche Greensboro offered a great send off.

Porsche Greensboro Send Off to VIR

Another 14 cars met at VIR and enjoyed laps around the track.  After which drivers headed to the barn for lunch.  The weather was not the best starting off in Greensboro, but once at VIR the roads and track dried out.

Triad Area's 2nd Annual Chili Cook Off

Think your chili recipe has what it takes to quell the heat of competition? Or maybe your best dessert is the sweetest in town? Now's your chance to prove it to the whole area!

At the next Triad Area's October meeting, we'll be holding our second annual Chili Cook Off. Come put your cooking, baking, and tasting skills to the test. Whether you're a kitchen novice or a seasoned pro, bring your favorite recipe to the table; no matter if it's white chicken chili or meaty and full of beans—we want to taste it all!

There will be a competition for the best chili and the best dessert, and you can enter either, both, or nothing at all. You are also welcome to bring an appetizer to share if you don't have chili or a dessert. There is no cost to enter and no charge for eating and voting. We want you to come and have fun with your Porsche club friends!

We'll have plenty of extension cords and outlets, so please bring your Crock Pots-don't forget serving utensils, as well! The club will provide bowls, plates, napkins, plastic ware, cups, chili toppings and water to drink (fire extinguishers will be at the ready!). Please bring your own preferred beverage other than water.

We'll begin checking in the chili and dessert entries at 5:30.

Eating and judging, conducted by all attendees, will begin at about 6:00.

At the end, votes will be tallied faster than a GT4 RS and a $50 gift card will be awarded to the Best Chili and $25 for second best. The Best Dessert earns $25.

We'll see you on Tuesday, October 20th at Royal Gait Farm, 6495 Kennedy Road, in Trinity for what will surely be an evening of fun, great company, and a little friendly rivalry.

PCA.....now it's not just the cars and the people, it's the delicious food too!
